Meeting the Knight Who Seeks His Own Sun

First encountered on the bridge before Undead Parish. He shares his quest for his own sun and leaves a summon sign to help the player. The only unambiguously warm presence in an otherwise crushing world.

Saved or Lost — The Player Decides

His questline culminates in the Demon Ruins. Without player intervention, he is parasitized by a Sunlight Maggot and goes Hollow. One of the most-cited tearjerker moments in the game.
